New Cosmetic Surgery Trend: ‘Bridalplasty’ for the Big Day
By admin | February 10, 2012
According to a recent news article by The Atlantic Journal-Constitution, “Instead of just toning up or dieting for their weddings, many brides today are opting for plastic surgery – sometimes in place of a big wedding or honeymoon.”
A wedding is held to celebrate the love between two people; however, these days, the occasion has also become a “coming out” moment for the bride. Traditionally, the focus of the ceremony seems to revolve around the bride’s appearance, which is known to make these women nervous and anxious about their grand entrance. Although close family and friends are usually the least likely people to be judgmental of a bride’s look on this special day, she still wants to look perfect for her wedding and “wow” the crowd. Plastic surgery can help to enhance a woman’s face, body, and/or breasts in order for her to not only look good, but feel good about herself. The right cosmetic procedure(s) can greatly improve a person’s self-confidence.
The media seems to refer to the growing trend of brides-to-be undergoing plastic surgery as “bridalplasty” — a term that came after the 2010 reality television show, “Bridalplasty,” showed the public that many women consider a wedding as one of the, if not the, most important day to prepare for. Due to proper healing and what the recovery period entails, those considering plastic surgery will need to consider the time it takes for the final look to become apparent and schedule their surgery ahead of time, accordingly. Unless a bride-to-be is interested in a non-surgical procedure, such as Botox® or Restylane® injections, plastic surgery is not an overnight transformation!
