Plastic surgery blog : Make-up Goals for 2010
By admin | January 28, 2010
Our local channel WFAA recently ran a story about creating make-up goals for 2010. The story reiterated what doctors have said for a long time. You must wear sunscreen every day. Rain or shine the sun is damaging. It offered other helpful tidbits, such as cleaning make-up brushes weekly and purchasing make-up from MAC because of their incentives for recycling containers. Make-up is an added benefit when beauty is your goal.
Drs Wilcox and Dulin believe that part of what helps with self-esteem is a healthy sense of beauty. Patients say things like “I saw a picture of myself and all I could focus on was my big nose“. (Sometimes patients are unhappy with the way they look in a captured picture of their profile.) While there are make-up tips for contouring, to make a persons nose appear smaller, for some it is not enough. Drs Wilcox and Dulin may recommend rhinoplasty. This procedure will reshape the nose and if desired shorten the length. Patients are often surprised to discover that rhinoplasty is a rather straight forward procedure and that the initial healing is within the first few weeks. Most patients are sorry that they waited so long.
